130,000 children in Utah live in poverty. There's a proven way to help, by teaching low-income women, primarily single mothers, how to earn an adequate income through stable employment that pays a living wage. That's what our friends at People Helping People of Utah do. So come to the #gomomglow Glow Fest to support local moms and kids in need and to party like only cool kids can. (More details at https://sway.com/BJEG85fLgA3RjjIF) - Help make an official attempt at a Guinness World Record for the longest glow stick chain (20,000 glow sticks, 2.5 miles), - Jam to some good tunes - Grub at the food trucks - Don your best glow and blacklight threads - Drop-in (if you dare) into the blacklight Splash Zone, and - Add your Drop to a good cause. The festival is free, May 6th 7:30 PM, the Friday before Mother's Day (love you, mom!). $1 donated = 1 glow stick added to the record attempt. Bring some bills. Come on, people!! :) After all, a mother's education is the #1 predictor of their child's health and economic future (Brookings Institute, 2015). *The festival host, Drop Foundation (www.addadrop.org), is a Utah non-profit youth service organization focusing on needs related to Children, Education, Hunger, and Self-reliance. Donations and proceeds will benefit the non-profit work of People Helping People (www.phputah.org).
